Parental partnership

Partnership between Parents and Tots Nursery is paramount to your child’s development.  The child’s personal experiences are the foundation for learning both in the Nursery setting and within the home. The sharing of information between home and Nursery is paramount to developing a full understanding of your child. Parents will be encouraged to take an active part in their childs learning.

Parental involvement

The nursery aims to develop a partnership with parents and other carers to support their children’s learning. The nursery welcomes parents/carers to share their knowledge and expertise through active participation. We would also like you to be involved with our 'themes'. Details will be given in our regular newsletter and 'Activities at Home' information sheet. This will enable you to reinforce and extend their learning at home.    Every six months you will receive a progress report focusing on the Early Years Foundation Stage and Early Learning Goals.

These are used in conjunction with your child’s developmental profiles, which are updated regularly. The nursery will then hold a parents evening to enable you to discuss the progress report in more detail and look at your child’s portfolio of work.

Both nurseries now operate a parent liasion group.  This is an opportunity for parents to put forward any suggestions or new ideas they may have and support new parents who have just joined the nursery.
